acupuncture

For 5000 yrs the Chinese have had a form of organised medicine based around the Taoist religion and in particular acupuncture.

Since 1971 when President Nixon made the first state visit by a western leader to the Peoples Republic of China and was treated with acupuncture, the west has had a fascination with this eastern art.

The treatment works by inserting very fine sterile surgical needles in to points on meridians linked to organs of the body. In this way the vital life force or “chi” is manipulated. The Orientals believed that a blockage or abundance of chi was the answer to many aspects of ill health and that by manipulating the flow of chi we could return the individual to health.

Such has been the popularity of acupuncture that the world health organisation now recognises the application of acupuncture in the treatment in over 100 different conditions.

Acupuncture can help in a wide variety of conditions ranging from muscle and sports injuries to chronic or acute pain, skin conditions, and addictions to smoking or alcohol in weight loss, fertility and menstruation problems.

This list is by no means comprehensive and we would be happy to offer an initial free enquiry service to those wishing to discuss the application of acupuncture.
