The word hypnosis translates from the Greek in to “a waking sleep” and this gives a good insight in to the most frequently asked question, “What’s it like to be hypnotised.

Hypnosis works on the basis that in a relaxed state the sub conscious mind is able to accept suggestions. We each experience the effect of hypnosis twice each day, just as we fall asleep and just as we wake up. These hypnopompic and hypnotonic states are similar to that experienced whilst in a state of altered consciousness whilst under hypnosis.

Research has shown that hypnosis actually alters the brain wave patterns of the individual under going treatment and has a beneficial effect in wide selection of conditions.Hypnosis can help in fears and phobias in eating and nervous disorders and many people use it as a tool in changing all manner of aspects of their lives.
