Acupuncture treatment in Fife.

I have been practicing acupuncture for over twenty years. For the last fifteen of those its been here in Fife. From my practice in Dunfermline, I’ve helped countless patients many of whom had never experienced acupuncture before. So what is acupuncture how does it work and does it hurt.

Acupuncture is an ancient form of medicine that traces its roots back 5000 years to ancient China. Acupuncture was an organised form of medicine in the east for centuries before we in the west had any kind of recognisable medical system. It involves the insertion of very fine sterile needles into sites on the body. These points are laid out in meridians and are linked to organs and functions of the body.

Acupuncture for a wide range of conditions.

The world health organisation has defined the range of treatments and conditions that are aided by acupuncture treatment. The list runs to over two hundred conditions so its too long to list here. However in my own practice Ive treated a wide range of physical and mental health conditions. Some of those involve inflammatory conditions others migraines some reproductive and others stress related. As you can see from that tiny but diverse sample the range of acupuncture and its use is varied.

But now we get to the most important question. Does it hurt? The simple answer to that is no it doesn’t. How do I know.. Simple not only do I practice but I also receive acupuncture treatment and I can assure you it is pain free relaxing and effective. Medics are just as prone to ill health as anyone else and I’ve recently been having some health issues that have been treated with acupuncture. The results have been very reassuring and I’m feeling much better. Its so nice to be able to speak from first hand experience.
